Halloween is one of Dexter’s and my favorite holidays because our townhouse neighborhood, like many, goes full-tilt to celebrate. Every day, fabulously-wild decorations are emerging on stoops, fences and window boxes. Townhouse living means we get to decorate our houses the way we want to and there is ample space to get creative.
Tomorrow, kids and their folks will come from all over to trick-or-treat. Sure, the candy is good, and there is plenty, but it also is the amazing experience of community, created by our townhouse community. We sit on our stoops to hand out candy; throngs of kids and their parents fill the streets; everyone is laughing, chatting, admiring each others’ costumes, and having fun. Nothing matches the delights of townhouse living in New York City.
